For this brief I have to create a illustration for my final dress. My garment is for a ready to wear/couture audience. For this task I have to look at several techniques that suit this target market.

Shirt Dress Project - Part 5
This is the final part to the project. All I needed to do, to finish the dress, was to make button holes and sew the buttons on. I chose heart shaped buttons to fit in with my Harajuku style. I used a mix of blue and yellow ones which were different sizes.

Eco-Fashion Collection
Miyake collaborated with scientist Jun Mitani to create this
collection. He was inspired by sustainability to create this fashion line. He
used fleece like fabrics that were made from recycled plastic bottles and
placed several snaps on the garments. This allowed them to be worn in a variety
of ways for different occasions. Thus making them recyclable. His main aim was
to create a series of sustainable garments that were innovative.
Using a software which generates formulas to construct 3D
geometric shapes, Miyake created his garments.
I think this collection is interesting. It has a futuristic look and I like the structure the garments have. I think is very clever how they are constructed and that they can be worn in different ways.
Dress Shirt Project- Part 4
I started by putting piping on the collar.
.
Then I attached the collar to one side of the collar stand.
I sewed the other side of the collar stand onto the collar.
Next I attached it to the neckline on the dress.
I then hemmed the dress. All I have left to do is attach the buttons and I am finished.

Alexander McQueen - Highland Rape Collection
For the new brief, we have to research designers and their concepts behind their collections. For my first one I chose Alexander McQueen and his Highland Rape collection. I chose this one because I liked how he is deliberately provocative with this collection.

Shirt Dress Project - Part 2
I started making the shirt dress today.
I cut my fabric out.
I marked the darts onto the fabric.
Then I sewed the back darts.
Next I sewed the two front darts.
To make the button stand stronger I cut out interfacing and ironed it onto the dress.
I ironed it over 1cm then again on the fold line. Then I sewed in down.
I sewed the shoulders with a 1cm seam allowance.
The I stared to sew the sleeves which I will finish tomorrow.
