Customising a Corset

I've been working on a new item for my Etsy shop. I found this really nice corset/top while in a charity shop. It's perfect for my Steampunk theme because it has this Victorian style pattern. I'm customising it with chains and cogs just to give it more if a steampunk look.

I am really pleased with how the jacket turned out. It meet my target market of high end fashion and looks like it could be sold in my chosen shop, Blackmirror Designs. It is an unusual design though wearable. This will be available on my Etsy shop soon!

Steampunk Jacket

Before Christmas I started a brief, Introduction to Fashion, where I had to research a subculture, create 50 designs and manufacture a top. We took a break from this brief so we could learn a bit more pattern cutting skills. Now we have had a few more weeks learning about the construction of a garment, we can continue.

I chose this design because I thought it would challenge me but at the same time be able to finish it in time for the deadline.

I've constructed the toile and only had to change a few things. I made the sleeves more fitted and added buttons to the cuff of the sleeves.
We can hand in just the toile but I have time to make it out of fabric. This way I can sell it on my Etsy shop.

Frozen Dress

I wanted to make my little cousin a Disney dress for christmasF. Frozen is very popular at the moment, so I decided to make the Elsa dress from the film.
