Steampunk Jacket- Finished!

I am really pleased with how the jacket turned out. It meet my target market of high end fashion and looks like it could be sold in my chosen shop, Blackmirror Designs. It is an unusual design though wearable. This will be available on my Etsy shop soon!

Steampunk Jacket

Before Christmas I started a brief, Introduction to Fashion, where I had to research a subculture, create 50 designs and manufacture a top. We took a break from this brief so we could learn a bit more pattern cutting skills. Now we have had a few more weeks learning about the construction of a garment, we can continue.

I chose this design because I thought it would challenge me but at the same time be able to finish it in time for the deadline.

I've constructed the toile and only had to change a few things. I made the sleeves more fitted and added buttons to the cuff of the sleeves.
We can hand in just the toile but I have time to make it out of fabric. This way I can sell it on my Etsy shop.

Frozen Dress

I wanted to make my little cousin a Disney dress for christmasF. Frozen is very popular at the moment, so I decided to make the Elsa dress from the film.

Fabric Shopping

There is was sale on at Abakhan, 15% off. I used this opportunity to buy fabric that I  could use to make items for my shop. I found some really nice lace fabrics which is perfect for my target market. I also found this soft cotton fabric that would be perfect for this waistcoat I designed.

Victorian Inspired Dress

I made this dress while I was off for Christmas. I was inspired by my current obsession with the Victorian era. I chose to make it from a satin fabric and printed cotton. To add that Steampunk touch it could be worn with pocket watch necklace and top hat.

White Rabbit Costume

I was commissioned to make a costume of the white rabbit from Alice in wonderland. I bought a shirt from a charity shop and attached gathered lace to the cuffs and used the remaining lace to make a bow to go round the collar. I then made a waistcoat using red velvet and accessorized it with rabbit ears and a pocket watch. It was a success because the customer really liked it.

New Item for Shop

I commissioned my mum to make a few of these knitted capes with hoods, which I will sell in my shop. I selected wool which has a metallic effect to make it fit my Steampunk theme.
