Blogs That Inspire Me

My Modern Metropolis
This is one blog I frequently look at is. It inspires me a lot. It features a lot of art which is something I love. They always have interesting posts and never fail to get my attention.

I like this blog because it looks at fashion, fashion films and illustrations. It also has competitions which is a good way for you to get noticed if your a fashion student. I entered their Giles Deacon competition and even managed to get mentioned on one of their posts.

IFB

I find this a really helpful blog because not only does it talk about fashion but it also gives you advice to help you improve as a blogger.

Amazing Typography Portraits

Sean Williams is the creator behind these amazing portraits. They are very realistic looking. Close up, viewers can read the lyrics and then from further away, the words blend together to form distinct facial details of each pop star. I would like to try this technique for an illustration.

Kami Organic

As part of my college brief I have to research eco designers. I looked at a fashion brand called Kami Organic. Which is a French fashion label that makes garments form organic fabric. I like there clothes because they have made them stylish as well good for the environment.  The clothes are very elegant and smart. They look like they have a Chanel influence to them.

Back To College

Tuesday was my first day at college as a second year fashion student. We were put to work straight away with a new brief. It is a completion for the clothes show 2013. I have to design a party outfit for the ultimate Clothes Show Girl. The winner gets £1000 which is a great motivation for a college brief. I would love to win but if I did I would also have to accept the award live on stage at the show. That is something I would rather not do. I would also win ticket to the Clothes Show which my sister has already decided that I would take her with me.

Drawings

Even while I was off for the summer I still had to do college work. I had to research eco designers, start fundraising for the fashion show and draw things that could be used as inspiration. I drew mostly sculptures and every day objects that I liked the shape of.
I  put two drawing on this blog post which have nothing to do with college but are something I thought were too good not to share with people. They are the images above and below this text. I spent quite a bit of time on them and this is the first time I have been able to make the faces I draw look realistic.

Manchester

I Visited Manchester during my time off. While I was there I did some shopping and visited the Manchester Art Gallery but I managed to get lost while trying to find the gallery. When I eventually got there I found some very unusual chairs.

I spotted this art work while walking around and thought they were really interesting.
